Teyana Taylor and her spouse Iman Shumpert have divorced after seven years of marriage.
The singer confirmed her marriage is over in an Instagram post, explaining the couple had been separated “for a while” and insisting infidelity did not play a role in the relationship’s demise – declaring the couple are still “family” and committed to co-parenting their two children together.
Teyana Taylor captioned the image with a photo of the former couple dressed as Wayne and Garth from the 1992 film ‘Wayne’s World,’ saying, “In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while.”
“To be absolutely clear, ‘infidelity’ isn’t one of the reasons for our departure,” Teyana Taylor stated. We are still closest friends, wonderful business partners, and a great team when it comes to co-parenting our two lovely children. Most significantly, in our 10 years together, 7 years married, we have never played with or about THAT.”
Teyana went on to say that they kept their breakup a secret on purpose, but she felt compelled to go forward to put the rumors to rest. “We just keep y’all asses out of the group chat lol, which is why we’ve been able to successfully and peacefully separate without all of the outside noise,” she continued.

The singer/actress has been with the former basketball player for a decade. They married in 2016 and became parents to two daughters Iman ‘Junie’ and Rue Rose.
The split news comes just months after Teyana Taylor shared a sweet message celebrating Iman’s birthday in June. She called him her “king” and her “best friend”.
She wrote: “Your birthday will always be one of my favourite days … Because on this day 33 years ago a super dope human being was born. My best friend, my husband, my children’s dad, my other half.
“It’s crazy how your birthday feels like my birthday because you’re a gift.” One of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received. King, happy birthday!
